Feng Shui Part 4: How to get your 'Wealth Groove' on

Once people learn about Feng Shui and the various aspects of life it helps when they hear the aspect of improving wealth that's the first thing they want to learn.

I wanted you to first get the right idea and understanding of Feng Shui and that's why I left wealth as the topic of Part 4.

As you can see from the table above, your 'wealth' area is located at the left, rear section of your home. Think of the 'knowledge', 'career' and 'helpful people' sections as the front of your home.

Draw a blank box, similar to the one above, on a piece of paper. Insert where your kitchen, living room, bedroom, dining room, etc., are located. See where each room falls within the 9 boxes. This will show you which rooms are in what section of your life.

Since we are currently dealing with your 'wealth' area, locate which room is in this section. Just for illustration purposes only, let's say your dining room fall into the 'wealth' area. The desired colors for this area would ideally be red, purple and blue as these represent wealth. You can use these colors any which way you please and as light or dark also. The only exception is that your red can not look like pink and your blue can be medium or dark, not so much very light. The reason being that the colors fall into different elements and if you use the wrong shade you will be changing the element and that might change what you're trying to accomplish.

You don't need to buy new furniture or repaint if you're not able to. You can use accessories which contain the correct colors such as pillows, drapes, etc. Feng Shui is meant to improve and harmonize your home and life, not empty out your pockets.

There are some items such as money frogs, wealth ships, wealth baskets, treasure chests, water fountains and more that would be excellent to place in your wealth area. However, if it is not easy for you to get these, or you prefer not to show oriental items in your home, you can easily use other items that represent wealth to you.

One suggestion is to add a mirrors, or mirrors, to your dining room walls. This is beneficial especially if they reflect the image of food, drinks and other 'riches' on the table. This will double your prosperity. If you have any chairs that have their backs facing windows, hang a crystal in the window to disperse the ch'i back into the room.

Most importantly, make sure your 'wealth area' is clutter-free. I can not stress this enough. You entire home needs to be clutter-free to make the most effective use of Feng Shui in your home.

If your home is not square-shaped and your 'wealth area' is missing, you can still 'create' it by using plants, crystals or light. Let's say your 'wealth area' falls out into a backporch instead of inside your home. Add items that will highlight that area which is what is meant by 'creating' it. Put an exterior light there to shine brightly at night; hang a crystal in that area and put some colorful potted plants.

As you energize your 'wealth area', keep positive thoughts and the intention you have in what you are doing. Write an affirmation such as 'I am now open to prosperity and abundance in my life' and place it in a safe spot in the room. Remember that your affirmation must be in the present tense so that the Universe knows you are talking about right now and not ten years from now.

This should keep you busy for a while and get you into the principle of how to bring Feng Shui into your home and life.

Feng Shui Part 3: Why it benefits you to learn and practice Feng Shui

Many people are fascinated with Feng Shui and with good reason. Some believe that it is just some oriental superstitious set of paradigms on interior design (but that is just a part of the extensive definition for Feng Shui). Feng Shui is actually comprised of various schools of learning and incorporates the different cultures under which it is housed.

There are so many advantages that Feng Shui can bring if you can actually open up your mind to try it. The good thing about the different options pertaining to Feng Shui is that even the layman can understand and apply it immediately in their homes without having to spend too much.

Benefit 1:  It brings balance into your life

Clutter can unnecessarily stress you out of your wits. You're probably suffering from a visual imbalance of some sort in your surroundings. Now, the best way to introduce some sense of balance is by incorporating elements that provide you with a sense of control in the outer balance of things, even in things as menial as your furniture.

Benefit 2:  It helps you focus on details

Focusing on the little things can actually be a good thing. Many tend to be heavily focused on the big things of life that even the minor details like home arrangement and office ergonomics don't even get noticed. Ignoring these “minor” aspects of life continue to take a backseat, they tend to accumulate and produce a very stressful environment which can add up to other problems and worries of life.

Benefit 3:  More chances of meeting new people

Meeting new people is another bonus of being a Feng Shui enthusiast. As you apply Feng Shui, you will be able to find another person within your social network who likes the same stuff and can even help you expand your knowledge on Feng Shui, no matter how limited it is to begin with. Before you know it you can start creating a group or start giving lectures on the topic to other interested people.

Benefit 4:  You begin to see Life with new eyes

This positive perspective can invite changes for the better. A new way of looking at home arrangement, for example, may actually serve to benefit you in the long run. The fresh perspective brought about by Feng Shui can actually bring about an enrichment of one’s mind. You begin to see your friends, relatives and people in general in a new light.

Benefit 5:  It opens the gates to prosperity and success

The main objective of Feng Shui is to invite all the good things to one’s life. Prosperity and success can be more easily within reach and a positive disposition may be expected if Feng Shui is practiced well.

Benefit 6:  It has aesthetic appeal and attracts beauty

On top of all the enumerated benefits of Feng Shui, the best would probably be its beauty. The physical appeal of a well-decorated home, interspersed with good Feng Shui techniques, is actually something that you can call a personal heritage that can transcend generations and promote beauty in all aspects, including design of the home and the office.
